My mother has been in the hospital twice within the past 4 days. The first time was Tuesday, at the start of my English class at the Community College I attend, where she fell twice in front of the whole class. She had been suffering from pneumonia and was also sad about my grandfather (her father), who would have celebrated his 73rd birthday on Tuesday. He passed away February 1st of this year from kidney cancer. Tomorrow, we are having a Celebration of Life for him.
My mom spent two days in the hospital, finally being released Thursday afternoon. When she got back home, the drugs given to her at the hospital had affected her memory. She could not remember anything before the fall, and often repeated herself. Tonight (Friday night), she fell twice again at home. The first time was in her room, when she fell off the bed. The second time was in my room, talking to my grandmother on the phone. She fell backwards and started shaking on the ground and gurgling in her mouth. I have never been so scared about anything before in my life. My dad, hearing my screaming, ran in and immediately called 911.
When me and my father got her into the dining room to wait for the paramedics, her big toe on her right foot was busted up and bleeding. My mom was not too pleased with the paramedics hooking her to medical equipment and telling her to go into the hospital. After all, she had just been released from the hospital yesterday. The paramedics finally got my mom on the stretcher and took her to the hospital.
So here I am, on my grandma's computer at her house, asking for you to please pray for my mom and my family as they go through this hard time. Personally, this has been a difficult week already without having to go through this scare. I hope you will keep my family in your thoughts and I will let you all know when everything gets better.
