My cousin Tommy was involved in a car accident at about 10:30 Monday night (EST). He was on his way home for the night, and since it had been raining all day Monday, the roads were slick. He was in the final curve* of the road before his driveway when he spun out, powersliding (when you pick up speed as you slide) into the opposite side of the two-lane road he lives on. His car (Cavalier) was struck by a Kia Sportage (SUV) on the passenger side of his car. We don't know how fast he was traveling, but the vehicle that hit him was doing 35 mph. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt, and more than likely died on impact. He was pronounced dead at 10:37 PM that same night in the hospital.
*By final curve, I mean you could see the lights from the police cars standing on his front porch.
The driver of the other car only suffered minor cuts and bruises, and both drivers were alone. The viewing was today, and the funeral is tomorrow at 3PM.
