No teams in this game. Guilds and parties are different.

However occational Guild competitions can happen. :)

What kinds of weapons can we start off with? I know it's L1 class, but what are we limited to? Also what determines how many HP we get?

Since I am a Grimma Caster and the equippable weapons for me suck, how do I learn Runology & Symbology spells so I can attack without hurting myself.

You can buy Tome items from shops, and at level 5 you can start equipping acessories.

It does self damage because it needs balance for the fact that at max power, you can deal 170 damage or 340 damage in one attack.
